ABOUT US

 

Seeking inspiration from the French ‘cinéma pur’ and ‘new wave’ movements, BUILT TO FAIL PRODUCTIONS is a film company dedicated to producing and fostering independent Irish Art Cinema.

Founded by Cilléin Mc Evoy and Chiara Viale in 2017, the company has released five short films and has acquired Chiara Viale’s first feature film The New Music (2021), which is distributed worldwide by SMP Distributions.

BUILT TO FAIL PRODUCTIONS is currently developing a number of projects including Chiara Viale's feature film 11 Ragman Street which was developed with the assistance of Screen Ireland.

Cilléin

Mc Evoy

Cilléin is an actor, director and producer from Dublin, Ireland. Graduated in Film And Media at QMU, Scotland, Cilléin has a PG Cert in Creative Thinking, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from TCD, Dublin.

Cilléin’s acting training includes the Abbey School Of Drama in Dublin and he has been working for screen and stage since 2014. Cilléin has written and directed several short films, including From Childhood’s Hour (2012) and Clear The Air (2018). He is currently developing a number of short films and his first feature screenplay School Days Over.

Chiara Viale

Chiara is a screenwriter, director and producer based in Ireland since 2015. She has a BA in Foreign Languages and Literature and she studied screenwriting in Dublin under Colin McKeown and Barry McEvoy. Chiara has written a number of feature and short film scripts and she started directing her own films in 2016. Her feature directorial debut, The New Music, won the Spirit Of IndieCork Award in 2019 and is distributed Worldwide by SMP Distribution. Her feature screenplay 11 Ragman Street was developed with the assistance of Screen Ireland.
Chiara is currently developing a number of feature and TV projects.
